TRANSFORMATION AS CREATION
What if we stopped demolishing systematically to build new? This exhibition focuses on an inherent issue of urban development: to reuse in order to open the way for urban revival; the concept of recycling as a way to stimulate a new approach to building cities. It refocuses the debate on the metamorphosis of modern heritage – notably the “Thirty Glorious Years” from 1945 to 1975. This heritage is less considered and therefore more imperilled, because it is often thought to be more easily renewable and even more easily disposable.
24 innovative architectural projects are featured in this exhibition, including works from 2021 Pritzker Architecture prize winners, Lacaton & Vassal.
