VOILAH! 2020 FINALE PROGRAMME
To celebrate the Finale of vOilah! France Singapore Festival 2020, internationally renowned Singaporean conductor Kahchun Wong and the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France are partnering with French classical music startup NomadPlay to present a unique online event and artistic collaboration between France and Singapore, supported by innovative technology.
At the beginning of last October, Kahchun Wong made an exceptional trip to Paris to lead the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France that performed Claude Debussy’s Prélude à l’Après-midi d’un Faune and César Franck’s Symphony in D minor. The recording of this performance will be integrated into the NomadPlay (FB, IG, Google play) digital application, so instrumentalists can play along the orchestra. This innovative technology offers a ground-breaking immersive experience: it can mute any instrument from a recording, so that musicians of all levels can practice as if the real orchestra was playing with them.
During the festival, Singaporean instrumentalists will be invited to connect to the NomadPlay application to play an excerpt from the concert by the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France conducted by Kahchun Wong. From 22 October, the participants are invited to take a video of their performance, share it on Facebook, Instagram and/or YouTube, and then send the link to the video by email.
On 22 November, the video of the recorded concert, complemented by home-made videos of Singaporean musicians, will be previewed for the Finale of Voilah! 2020. The best performances will win attractive prizes (more details on the competition to be published soon).
