ENABLING THE NEXT GENERATION TO RELIVE NOSTALGIC MOMENTS OF THE STATION’S PAST THROUGH AN IMMERSIVE VR EXPERIENCE PLATFORM
The former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station was officially opened in 1932 with fancy facilities such as a restaurant, a bar, a hair salon and even a hotel. It was in operation until 30 June 2011, when the Malaysian Government returned the land on which the station sits to Singapore under a land exchange deal.
Closed for the development of an extensive underground line since 2012, a virtual reality experience was designed to re-ignite an appreciation of its beautiful interior and allow visitors to navigate the spaces virtually.
This VR experience is sponsored by Dassault Systèmes and presented by the Preservation of Sites and Monuments division of the National Heritage Board.
