France – 120 min
In 1657, playwright/actor Molière returns to Paris after touring the kingdom of France with his theatrical troupe, having been given a theater in the capital by the King. One day, a young lady asks him to follow her to the deathbed of her mother…
The film goes back thirteen years earlier, when Molière was running a troupe, albeit unsuccessfully. Fortunately, his debt was paid off by Monsieur Jourdain, a rich man who asks Molière to help him rehearse a one-act play he had written, intended for seducing a beautiful bright young widow, Célimène.
