The Brook’s Clown
Final piece of the Talking Clown trilogy
Gramblanc and Hatoff, two outlandish characters played by Jean Lambert-Wild and Marc Goldberg, meet in Singapore to seek a bright future. They soon get lost within the City and their dreams, between hawker centres and black-and-whites, lush greenery and mythical creatures.
Photographed by Ler Jiyuan, their “hit and miss adventure” allows Koh Hong Teng, a leading figure of contemporary Singapore comics art, to revisit and revamp the photo-novel genre.
The National Library immersive exhibition, inspired by the album, based on large and small prints on different materials, is a unique opportunity to discover “from within” this poetical and playful wandering in Singapore.
The Brook’s Clown is the final piece of The Talking Clown trilogy, which former parts were performed at 72-13 and Gardens by the Bay.
