DESCRIPTION
The Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) is the leading festival in Asia for children’s stories and young adult (YA) fiction. Targeted at writers, illustrators, translators, publishers, educators and media professionals, AFCC offers a series of exciting programmes, including panel discussions, presentations, workshops, lectures, masterclasses, networking sessions and public programmes that promote the creation and appreciation of quality children’s literature and YA with a focus on Asian themes.
This year, AFCC invites Emmanuelle Grundmann, a French biologist, naturalist and wildlife reporter, specializing in the protection and reintroduction of great apes in Asia. Now an author of children’s books, Emmanuelle Grundmann invites young readers to reflect on nature and the living world around us.
Adding to the cultural vibrancy of the event, there will be a special screening of French animation “Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds”. The film follows the enchanting adventure of two sisters, Juliette and Carmen, who discover a secret passage into the extraordinary world of their favourite book, “The Kingdom of the Winds”. The girls must navigate a whimsical yet perilous land, eventually seeking the help of the mysterious and powerful wizard Sirocco – the master of storms – to find their way back home.
