Ballet: The Making of an Étoile

Beyond the curtain of Paris Opéra Ballet

DESCRIPTION

What does it take to become an étoile? Behind the luminous grace seen on stage lies a world of discipline, craft, and transformation. BALLET: The Making of an Étoile invites audiences to step beyond the curtain of the Paris Opera Ballet and discover the demanding journey through which dancers are shaped, refined, and ultimately revealed.

Structured as a narrative progression, the exhibition explores the opera house as a unique ecosystem of artistic excellence, where from rehearsal studios to backstage corridors countless hours of unseen work unfold, shaping precision and clarity. It then delves into transformation, where through discipline, repetition, and performance, dancers refine their technique and artistic voice while embodying the great roles of the French repertoire.

More than an exhibition, it is a story that unveils in front of your eyes: one where rituals, dedication and resilience converge towards elevation.
