Still Lives, After Life
DESCRIPTION
Richard Koh Art Singapore presents Still Lives, After Life, Ugo Li’s first solo exhibition in Singapore, featuring paintings that revisit still life through temporality, residue, and persistence.
Li treats still life as arrangement but as aftermath: tables after meals, vases after flowers, surfaces marked by routine. Suspended moments linger as objects outlast function. Stillness becomes temporal rather than decorative, holding traces without narrative.
Plates, bottles, fruit, and furniture are rendered with restraint, balancing fragility and endurance. Modest and ornamental forms coexist, where value lies in duration. Unsentimental and attentive, these works propose continuity, where objects outlive their users as witnesses.
