DESCRIPTION

Drawing inspiration from the 17th-century European Wunderkammer – private rooms filled with curious objects, inventions and musical instruments that sparked wonder and creativity -, this intimate chamber programme presents rarely-heard Baroque masterpieces by composers such as Buxtehude, Biber and Rosenmüller, including several Singapore premieres.

Harpsichorist Olivier Fortin was born in Québec and has been living in Burgundy, France since 2009, where he teaches baroque music and leads his own ensemble: Masques. Much demanded as a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed throughout Europe, in Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, the United States and Canada.

Olivier Fortin shares his expertise in Baroque music and performance practice in a series of 6 masterclasses, all of which are open to the public to observe. Two of the sessions are open for the public to sign up to perform, aimed at singers and instrumental students respectively.
