*As part of the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the Singapore France Support Centre (which is the 1st foreign pro bono legal clinic in Singapore, and the 1st French pro bono legal clinic outside of France dedicated to women victims of violence), the screening will be followed by a panel discussion bringing together representatives from partner institutions and civil society. The evening will conclude with a cocktail reception.

Denis Mukwege, a Congolese doctor later awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018, risks his life to heal and become a world leading activist for thousands of women who have been raped and mutilated in the Democratic Republic of Congo – a country in which women’s bodies have become a weapon of war. In Panzi, his hospital which has become a haven of peace, Guy Cadière, a Belgian surgeon, pioneer in laparoscopy, fights by his side so that these women find dignity and hope.
