2024 Merlion Call for Applications

The 2024 Merlion Call for Applications is now open! French-Singaporean teams are invited to submit their project proposals by September 16th, 2024 in French or in English.

The teams can decide to apply for any of the three sub-components of the Merlion Programme:

  • The Merlion Project, for the short-term mobility of researchers working on a joint project,
  • The Merlion Workshop, for the organisation of a scientific workshop in France or in Singapore,
  • The Merlion Ph.D., for Singapore-based students to work in a French laboratory for up to 6 months a year.

Since 2006, the Merlion programme has supported more than 260 scientific collaborations, enabling researchers from France and Singapore to travel to one of the two countries, to initiate new projects and to co- supervise Ph.D. students.

Joint publications, long-lasting collaborations, and the creation of two joint laboratories and two joint research units are testifiers of the key role that the Merlion programme plays in the scientific cooperation between France and Singapore.

Open to all fields of science, the programme is co-funded and implemented by the Embassy of France in Singapore, the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), the Singapore Management University (SMU), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).
