Mme Ambassadrice

Her Excellency
Ambassador of France to Singapore

True to its purpose of celebrating cultural exchanges between our two countries, vOilah! France Singapore Festival is back in 2024, offering over the course of a month – from 25 April to 26 May – a wide array of events – such as concerts, performances, exhibitions, screenings, lectures, workshops, etc. – promoting the vitality as well as the quality of our relations with our Singaporean partners.

In the year when France welcomes the whole world to Paris on the occasion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, vOilah! France Singapore Festival teams up with a great diversity of local organisations in the fields of culture, arts, literature, sports, science & gastronomy to bring to Singapore audiences a remarkable collection of iconic legends, an inspiring selection of talents, and meaningful dialogues on academic and scientific topics.

Icons of French culture are first at the core of this 2024 edition, with 3 legends being celebrated: playwright Molière, author of “Le petit Prince” Saint Exupéry, and singer Edith Piaf. Their art is universal and appeals to everyone across cultures and eras.

We also celebrate the excellence of French and France-based talents, with the rising star pianist Nour Ayadi, the internationally acclaimed harpist Xavier de Maistre, the contemporary artist and designer Hubert Le Gall, the cutting-edge theatre and puppetry company Plexus Polaire, chefs from New Caledonia, as well as authors and illustrators.

vOilah! France Singapore Festival always seeks to bring together experts from both our countries, exchanging views on global challenges and ways and means to address them. In 2024, we tackle issues such as women’s health, generative AI, and the role of nature in our cities.

Finally, I wish to emphasize two major and festive events, open to everyone: the opening concert of our festival, Jazz au Jardin, with a celebration of jazz at the Singapore Botanic Gardens; as well as its closing event, Artletics, a 2-day street art and urban sports activation at Somerset Skate Park, echoing the upcoming Paris 2024 Games.

This spring, join us as we celebrate what unites us all: passions for arts & culture, passions for gastronomy, passions for sports & science. Together, let’s celebrate passions!
