Second Edition of EU at your School at Hwa Chong Institution

Students aged 13 to 20 from 27 Singapore education institutions will be meeting with European Union (EU) representatives in the second edition of the ‘EU at Your School’ programme (#EUatYourSchool), where they will learn more about the EU and its relations with Singapore and the region. The programme, which runs from 31 March to 28 May 2021, builds on positive feedback from the inaugural edition in 2019.

This is the second year which this initiative is being run and topic of interest is: Strengthening EU-Singapore Partnership in the Face of Changing Global Environment. The topics for this year will center around the pandemic’s recovery, such as the EU’s concerted response to the Covid-19 pandemic, their path to recovery, the EU’s engagement with ASEAN, and EU-Singapore ties.

French Ambassador Marc Abensour participated in the event on 9 April at Hwa Chong Institution, along with his German-counterpart, HE Norbert Riedel. They shared in a panel in front of 40 students on the Franco-German relations and history at the core of the EU, relationships between the EU and Asia and the outlook of Franco-German role in and cooperation with the region. Students’ questions were answered through a Questions and Answers segment after the panel.
