Today is International French Teachers’ Day!

The International French Teachers’ Day honours teachers of the French language in mainstream schools and those in bilingual training courses around the world.

To celebrate the second International French Teachers’ Day, the Embassy of France in Singapore, the Association of French Teachers in Singapore (APFS) and the Alliance Française de Singapour got together to organise a video competition. French learners were invited to submit a short video about their French teachers and show the influence they had on them, based on three themes:

  • Tribute to your teacher,
  • Why you like learning French,
  • Humour in the French classroom.

After careful consideration, the jury declared the following winners:

  • First prize (Universal Studio tickets): Ng Chek Hock
  • Second prize (Lancôme product): Goh Sze Ann and Shen Xuan Ru,
  • Third prize (Alliance Française cinema tickets): Lisa Reemeyer, Kevin Luis and Nitin Koithra,
  • Special prize (Alliance Française media library membership): Miya Wong.

These videos are visible on Voilah’s Youtube page.

All candidates will also receive a three-month subscription to TV5 Monde Plus.

Congratulations to all participants and their teachers, and have a happy International French Teachers’ Day!
