We are delighted to welcome Professor Jean-Marie Tarascon from the Collège de France and French Academy of Science, gold medal awardee of the French Centre for National Research (CNRS), to one of our science events in Singapore, in collaboration with Alliance française and The French Alumni !
Professor Tarascon will address an audience at Alliance française on May 26, 2023 at 7pm on the topic of batteries for sustainable development and modern transportation. We hear more and more about electric vehicles or autonomous cars. But what about their technological reality? Will we see cars driven by artificial intelligence (or AI) within five years or only within 20 years? Similarly, for electric vehicles, what energy sources will be used to power the entire fleet? Will the electrical grid be able to keep up with demand? Will there be enough materials to produce and equip the vehicles of tomorrow? What role will recycling play?
Professor Tarascon will engage in a conversation with :
- Alan Chan, Chairman of the Land Transport Authority (Singapore)/ Alan holds a Diplome d’Ingenieur from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, France and MBA (with Distinction) from INSEAD, France
- Spencer Low, Chief Data and Sustainability Officer at SATS, Singapore Airport Terminal Services
- Ley Hoon Quah, former Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, currently CapitaLand Chief People and Culture Officer.
