Independent cinema returns to Golden Mile Tower this week with the official launch of Filmhouse. Occupying the historic site formerly home to The Projector, the newly refurbished venue features a 1970s-inspired lobby and upgraded 4K and 2K laser projection across its three halls.
The Embassy of France and Institut Français is thrilled to partner with the Filmhouse team to bring French movies to its community, with the French animation “Marona’s Extraordinary Tale” (L’extraordinaire voyage de Marona) screened as part of the Filmhouse opening launch.
Directed by Anca Damian, this visually breath-taking film tells the story of a small dog with a big heart, reflecting on the various owners she has encountered throughout her life. The film is a masterclass in modern animation, blending distinct artistic styles to create an emotional, kaleidoscopic journey.
As part of an opening promotion to celebrate the new partnership and the venue’s launch, Filmhouse is offering a special French cinema promo rate for all three screenings this February. Join us to celebrate the return of arthouse cinema to Beach Road!
