French Animation Film Festival 2021 features “Josep”

Josep Long, No Text

The French Animation Film Festival, presented by Alliance Française, is back from 27 to 30 May, in compliance with all directives from the Singaporean government.

First in the line-up is “Josep”, telling the story of a Spanish illustrator fighting against Franco’s regime, in the late 30s. The movie is about how friendship and human connection can soothe and comfort.

Spanish republicans flee Franco’s dictatorship for France, where they are confined to camps with poor hygiene, and barely any access to food or water. In one of these camps, separated by barbed wire, two men become friends : Josep and a guard.

Two screenings are planned at Alliance Française: Thursday 27 May and Saturday 29 May at 8pm
