Singapore premiere films, Q&A with film animator, Oscar & César awarded short movie, workshops, VR exhibition & much more await you at the French Animation Film Festival!

Held at Alliance Française on 24, 25 and 26 May, the 8th, the French Animation Film festival returns with movies that will please the entire family, kids and grown-ups alike! Get ready for 10 short films screenings, 5 premiere movies, 1 masterclass with an animator, and 1 VR art exhibition!

One of the key highlights of the French Animation Film Festival is Dilili in Paris which was screened as the opening movie of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and won a César for best animated movie in 2019. Jean-Claude Charles, Animator and Assistant Director of Dilili in Paris will share all the secrets of making the movie in a Q&A following the screening. He will also conduct a master class organised at the SIDM – Nanyang Polytechnic.

Dilili in Paris will be preceded by The Green Bird, a graduation movie created by 5 students from MOPA School in Arles, France. The film has been awarded Best Film in the International Animation category of the Student Academy Awards 2018, granted by the Oscars Academy.

The festival will continue with Minuscule 2: Mandibles from Far Away a follow-up to the well-loved first feature film and TV series, this time telling the story a little ladybug that remains trapped in a box sent to… the Caribbean! Other family entertainment includes Phantom Boy, following Leo, a 11-year-old young boy, fighting crime with his extraordinary power to duplicate and become invisible, The Horn Quartet & Downpour at Sous-Bois-Les-Bains, will please younger children from 3 years old with their stories full of adventures, discoveries and friendships.

Adults are not left aside with a 2-in-1 movie night screening The Tower & A Man is Dead, both films are offering a new perspective on political subjects like war and militancy.

What’s more? Join us for a free evening of short movies and get the opportunity to discover the vast diversity that animated films have to offer.

Finally, the whole family will be able to enjoy a 4-days Virtual Reality exhibition where adults and children alike can explore classic French art piece through an interactive experience.
