Singapore ArchiFest is a platform for all walks of life to gather and reimagine the design of Singapore, its architecture and consequently, our way of life.
From 25 September to 31 October 2020, series of events, either virtual or hybrid, have been curated around the theme of “Architecture Saving OUR World”. The four topics – namely climate change, public health, social equity and cultural continuity – aims to generate new ideas and responsible designs that benefit our ecology and humanity.
Alongside the films and events tagged in Singapore Archifest 2020 is Tomorrow (rated PG), a 120min French documentary by Mélanie Laurent and Cyril Dion.
Presented with the support of the Embassy of France in Singapore, Tomorrow focuses on pioneers who are suggesting solutions to re-invent agriculture, energy, economy, democracy and education. The people’s constructive actions spark the beginning of a movement, seeking to encourage local communities around to work to change the way they live for the sake of our planet.
The movie will be available on Projector Plus on 26 September 2020 for 48 hours (26 Sep 0001hrs to 27 Sep 2359hrs). Buy the tickets for the viewing here.
Singapore Archifest 2020 looks to further expound on the capacity of architecture, by forging more responsive, inclusive and responsible design solutions that can contribute towards long term sustainability for our communities and environment. Singapore Archifest 2020 thus seeks to highlight such Creactivist movement, to bring out positivity amidst the dynamically changing world, and to show how architecture can make a difference.
