The new chapter of the “Writing Sessions” created by Wired Music Week*, the Centre National de la Musique (CNM) and the Embassies of France in Singapore and South Korea highlighted a unique collaboration between France, South Korea and Singapore.
It all started with the musical collaboration between French and South Korean musicians with the aim of producing and releasing few songs. South Korean artists were selected by the record label CONECTD, and French artists were chosen through a call for applications issued by the CNM. After several weeks, the music teams finally recorded 9 tracks and showcased them to professional guests from French and Asian music industries in June 2021.
French artists:
- Charlotte Fever – Riptide/Baguette Publishing
- Lean Chihiro – Chez Ace
- Else – Mirage Studio / Divine
- Duñe – Divine / Roche Musique
- LeMarquis – Savoir Faire
South Korean artists:
But the collaboration didn’t stop here. To give even more weight to this collaboration, students from the graphic design departments of the two prestigious Singaporean universities, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the LASALLE College of the Arts, have been invited to join the event.
The idea: to illustrate and create 4 videos of the tracks. The result was showcased on 26 August 2021 during a private listening session bringing together all the players of this ambitious project. The quality and the creativity of the artworks are undeniable. This level of production is indeed so impressive that two tracks are already under discussion to be released by the artists’ record companies!
