“Connect France”, focus on French electronic music in Asia

Get Wired is the online extension of Wired Music Week, the Asia based electronic music conference. On 16 July, the Embassy of France in Singapore and Bureau Export has designed Connect France, a programme dedicated to the presentation of the French electronic music scene and of the role of collectives to the success of the French Touch style. The ability of artists to evolve in collectives has allowed electronic music creators to be well identified in Asia. Indeed, Ed Banger and Roche Musique labels are spearheading the export of French electronic music in South-East Asia.

In this sense, French journalist Olivier Pellerin presented an excerpt from the survey on electronic music that he prepared on behalf of SACEM in 2016. The survey also demonstrated the strength of the live scene in France and the work of touring artists to build networks of curators in clubs around the world. It is also thanks to the links between these networks that French DJs and producers have been able to access new outlets in Asia.

Connect France brought together nearly 300 professionals from around the world: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.
