As part of its 2025 edition, Cont·act Contemporary Dance Festival returns with a rich programme celebrating long-standing artistic collaborations that have shaped the contemporary dance landscape in Singapore. This year’s edition includes two triple bills at Esplanade Annexe Studio and a special spotlight performance at the ArtScience Museum.
Among the featured works is Cercle, a solo performance by Olé Khamchanla (Laos/France).
Drawing from both Eastern and Western traditions — from street movement to classical forms — Cercle embodies a dialogue of cultures that informs the choreographer’s hybrid artistic language. In this piece, Olé Khamchanla explores the evolving nature of his practice, pushing the boundaries of form and gesture in search of universality and renewed energy.
Originally slated for the 2020 edition of the festival, Cercle finally comes to life in Singapore, marking a meaningful continuation of artistic exchange post-pandemic.
