Catch French choreographer Edouard Hue’s piece “Into Outside” for SIDES at SOTA with Frontier Danceland

Frontier Danceland’s mid-year production, SIDES returns with another captivating edition! SIDES 2019 happening on 10th and 11th May will be a double-bill featuring new work by renowned choreographers Shahar Binyamini (Israel) and Edouard Hue (France/Switzerland), developed for and performed by Frontier Danceland company artists. This production promises to delight audiences with the strength and beauty of movement, and move them with the depth of expression.

About Edouard Hue
Edouard Hue trained at the Ballet Junior de Genève before starting working for the Hofesh Shechter Company, Olivier Dubois, Damien Jalet, James Wilton… In 2014, he created the Beaver Dam Company, for which he stands now as Artistic Director. Its first creation “Murky Depths” won several awards and got a successful welcome in Europe and internationally.
In 2016, Edouard Hue, along with Beaver Dam Company, officially became a resident choreographer for three years at the Auditorium de Seynod – Scène Régionale. In 2017, Edouard Hue obtained the support from Pro Helvetia – Swiss Cultural Foundation, for his work as a choreographer. The foundation provided him with mentoring by Olivier Dubois for his piece “Meet Me Halfway.” In November 2017, he co-founded the FDAM – Festival of Dance and Art in Motion with the Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture Novel. In 2018, he created and performed the solo FORWARD. The creation integrated the Danse & Dramartugie Program initiated by Philippe Saire – Théâtre Sévelin 36. A great success, the piece started a world tour on its first year. The same year, Edouard Hue re-created with 8 dancers his piece “Into Outside” for the Ecole de Danse Contemporaine of Montreal.
Beyond his choreographic activities, Edouard Hue conducts workshops around his work and collaborates with dance schools in Europe and abroad.

About Frontier Danceland’s SIDES
Curated in 2013, SIDES is Frontier Danceland’s annual mid-year production which brings both international and local choreographers together so that the various tangents of contemporary dance are explored. Choreographers usually spend an artist-in-residence period of two to four weeks with the company artist to create or restage works for each season. Frontier Danceland has since presented the works of Chang Chien-Kuei (Taiwan), Lee Mun Wai (Singapore), Christina Chan (Singapore), Shahar Binyamini (Israel), Sita Ostheimer (Germany), Shahrin Johry (Singapore), Stephanie Lake (Australia), Wallie Wolfgruber (USA), Noa Zuk (Israel), Olé Khamchanla (France/Laos), Jereh Leong (Singapore), Gabrielle Nankivell and Luke Smiles (Australia), Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet (France), as well as Richard Chappell (UK) and Faye Tan (Singapore).
