Singapore’s iconic entertainment destination CÉ LA VI has partnered with the Embassy of France to host the international Fête de la Musique on Friday, 21 June 2019, in celebration of the diversity of musical genres, cultures and initiate encounters between French and local artists.
Launched in France in 1982, and then initiated by the French Ministry of Culture, the Fête de la Musique has since expanded to become an emblematic international musical event in over 800 cities and 120 countries with thousands of events worldwide. From the outset, the objective was to bring music out into the streets, inviting all those who could play an instrument or carry a tune to perform. The festival, through the years, has expanded into an event that promotes and celebrates upcoming local talent, artistic collaboration and highlights the intangible cultural heritage of the participating cities. The annual event has now become an established cultural event worldwide where Fête de la Musique parties of each participating cities are featured in a video broadcast at the Eiffel Tower on day of the summer solstice.
Following the success of last year’s edition in Singapore, CÉ LA VI is gearing up to showcase sought-after French Electronic music trio, Télépopmusik. Their elegant sound gained recognition from the public through hit singles, sold-out tours and intelligent sound-tracking on multiple high-profile campaigns. Since the release of acclaimed album Genetic World in 2001, Télépopmusik has played over 100 concerts globally, from Moscow, Istanbul and the Glastonbury Festival to New York and Puerto Rico. Accompanying the unique electronic trio will be supporting local artist JB. Helming the deck for over 15 years, this eclectic DJ has performed in Paris, London, Alicante and countless locations across Asia. Currently a resident DJ at Kilo Lounge and Potato Head, JB has humbly contributed in growing the local scene by founding The Jam Parlour series.This spectacular night invites partygoers to revel in non-stop mix of dynamic beats.
