IN CONVERSATION WITH ANNE-SOPHIE PIC, PASCAL GARBE, PAUL PARADIS, DR TAN PUAY YOK AND LAI SIMIN
Accompanying the exhibition on emblematic plants linked to the history of Singapore and Southeast Asia and their use in the French art de vivre and gastronomy, Anne-Sophie Pic, Pascal Garbe and Paul Paradis will explore the secrets of numerous plants from the region. These plants were prevalent in perfumery, gastronomy, decorative arts or in the art of gardens in Singapore and in France, including cinnamon, pepper, a multitude of orchids, lotus and many others.
The conversation will also feature Dr Tan Puay Yok and Lai Simin from the Singapore Botanic Gardens on the role of the gardens in promoting edible plants and the culinary uses of some of Singapore’s native plants.
