CONCERT BY RED DOT BAROQUE, CONDUCTOR ALAN CHOO
Sing’Baroque invites you to a new discovery journey of French baroque music. The ensemble-in-residence Red Dot Baroque, led by conductor Alan Choo, will perform several pieces from the most famous composers showing the confluence and confrontation of the Italian and French styles in 17th and 18th century music in France. From the accession to the throne of Louis XIV, the superiority of one style over the other was a constant subject of arguments that eventually led to the Querelle des Bouffons in the middle of the 18th century opposing supporters of Jean-Philippe Rameau and Jean-Baptiste Rousseau.
